British ’Christian’ couple arrested in The Gambia
A British couple, David Borland Fulton and wife Fiona Rachel, is being detained at the Gambia police headquarters in Banjul for allegedly publishing negative articles about the West African state. The couple has also been accused of sending letters to individuals and organizations about the Gambia and the government, Assistant Superintendent of Police Sulayman Secka, Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the detention of the couple. He said the couple, known as Christian missionaries, was arrested by the police who were acting on a tip-off from concerned citizens. They said the couple had been living in the Gambia for the past nine years, after arriving as tourists.
