The Gambia fires another magistrate
Another Gambian magistrate, Johnny A. Njie, has been sacked by the country’s Judicial Service Commission, authoritative sources confirmed Monday. Njie who served as a "first class" magistrate at Bundung Court was alleged to have engaged in a misconduct, which according to Gambia’s judicial authorities, warranted his sacking. However, the judicial service commission did not give specific reasons that prompted the sacking. Meanwhile, Njie is the latest on the long list of judicial workers that included judges and magistrates who were dismissed in recent times. The sacked judicial staffers included Magistrate Buba Jawo, Justice Babucarr Camara, Justice Na Ceesay and Justice Haddy Roche. - Monday 17 November - 23:45
